We're growing to serve the needs beyond mobile foods to include cottage & home made foods & craft batch producers. Join us!
Hello! We're the Food Trucks Association of Canada, or FTAC for short.
We're a lean, bootstrapped, nonprofit organization run by people who care deeply about this industry and the entrepreneurial spirit behind it since 2020.
Food trucks were just the start. Now we're building a movement to help more small food businesses get the support they deserve. Learn more about our work
Motorized food trucks, carts, and canteens
Non-motorized food trailers, cycles, and push-carts
Caterers and craft service providers
Pop-up and event foodservice vendors
Craft & Small Batch food & beverage producers
Cottage-food producers like home bakers and confectioners
Independently owned/operated cafes and bistros
FTAC was formed because no one was supporting mobile food operators the way the industry actually needed. Building industry credibility, navigating municipal bylaws, sourcing supportive partners, dealing with permits that change city to city — none of it was being addressed.
So we built something ourselves.
We're not here to collect dues and send you a newsletter. We're here to make it easier for you to build something that's truly yours.
Are you a:
Food truck operator?
Food truck that also caters?
Caterer who does pop-ups and markets?
Cottage food producer trying to navigate the rules?
Craft batch producer selling at markets, online, and anywhere you can?
Someone dreaming of opening a small café from your current cart or trailer?
...or some messy combination of all of the above?
We get it. You're exactly who we're here for and why we exist.
Small food businesses don't fit into tidy categories — and neither do we.
Wherever you're headed, our #1 goal is to help your business thrive.
Governments can't respond to each individual operator's concerns. That's where we come in.
As your industry association, we bring shared concerns to decision-makers — giving government a collaborative point of contact to gather input and shape policy.
Will we speak to all levels of government on your behalf?
Federal, provincial, and municipal? YES. 100%.
Food trucks are small businesses that have historically lacked the support infrastructure of restaurants and chains — until now.
We provide resources and training on topics that matter to you, in formats that fit your schedule. Workshops, conferences, webinars, focus groups — we've got you covered.
This association is ABOUT you and FOR you.
Want to understand how your business stacks up? Curious how your municipality compares to others across Canada?
We provide industry data and insights to help you plan and make informed decisions. We pursue in-house research and sponsored studies that benefit the entire sector — then share the findings with members.
Quality information and industry data helps you plan better for your business.
e're here to champion the food truck industry across Canada — its strengths, its value, and its people.
Through marketing and communications, we raise the profile of mobile food vendors with governments, media, and the public. Our goal is to change how people see this industry.
We're ready to tell your story.
Think group insurance rates are out of reach for a small business? Think again.
As our membership grows, so does our collective buying power. That means better rates on insurance, supplies, and services — negotiated specifically for food truck operators.
Unlike other associations, your needs are our only priority. We negotiate with YOU in mind.
Connect with fellow operators who want to share experience, mentor newcomers, and move the industry forward together.
Stay informed with our free newsletters covering legislative changes that can have impacts on your business. We'll keep you posted on government programs, media opportunities, and other ways to grow your business.
Let's drive this industry forward, together.
Find public events featuring food vendors across Canada, plus industry events to help your business grow. Add your own too.
Need attention on a growing issue? Celebrating a grand opening? New ownership? Let's help you spread the word.
Share your journey. Your story helps fellow operators learn — and helps us show government where change is needed.
